Excerpts from Untitled, 1977-80
The photographs in this series are all mono-prints that range in size. They evolved out of playful encounters with a variety of materials and an interest in challenging the veracity of the photograph as document.
Each image is a result of a combination of techniques including the use of X-rays as light modulators and as photogram elements, double exposures, bleaching and toning solutions, hand coloring and the reuse of some of the actually photographed forms, or xerox copies of them, as reintegrated elements sown, pasted and stapled onto the surface of the print.
