Excerpts from (in preparation for absence)

The photographs in (in preparation for absence), accompany journal entries written by a young girl in 1966 and communications sent to her twenty years later from her lover. Images of wallpaper, with motifs that aspire towards class positions that don’t reflect the domestic lives, desires, or lived experiences of the lovers, are juxtaposed with images of a dying, industrial northern Britain.
